Congratulations to KICKS teacher, Miss Maria Nahri! After participating in the Central Ontario preliminary competition on Sat. Dec 3rd, Maria won "Miss Congeniality" Award along with the "People's Choice Award!" The hilight of the evening was the announcement that Maria was chosen in the top 12 to participate in the National Finals in June 2012 for "Miss Universe Canada!" Congratulations Maria!!
BAILEY WOODMAN PERFORMS IN " HAUNT" at CANADA'S WONDERLAND!!
Bailey is excited to be part of "HAUNT" at Canada's Wonderland! Opening night was Friday, September 30th! Bailey performs 3 shows per night at the Wonderland Theatre. The show is called "Beyond The Grave!" Congratulations to KICKS Student Bailey Woodman!!

The Toronto Raptors Junior Dance Pak Audition day attracted over 100 dancers, ages 9-12 from the GTA! After 4 rounds of auditions and then a long finals round, 9 yr old Joselle Solarino was selected to be part of the 2011-2012 team! Twenty dancers were chosen from the final audition round. The Junior Dance Pak will perform at Raptors Home Games in front of 20,000 fans at the ACC! Congratulations Joselle!

Toronto Raptors Junior Dance Pak Choreograper, Courtney Drake, is looking for twenty fabulous dancers ages 9-12 to be members of the 2011-2012 team! If you've got what it takes, mark down this date on your calendar and come out to audition! September 18th at KICKS Dance Studio, 50 Bullock Drive, Markham, Ontario 905-294-2618. Audition Times: 9am all 9 yr old dancers, 10am all 10 yr old dancers, 11am all 11 yr old dancers and 12 noon all 12 yr old dancers. Canada's Wonderland recently held several auditions for dancers to perform in the Canterbury Theatre Showcase this summer at Wonderland. Hundreds and hundreds of dancers auditioned for one of the 6 spots. We are very excited to announce that KICKS Student, Bailey Woodman was chosen!! Bailey will be performing in 3 shows daily for the entire season! We will definitely catch one of the performances! Congratulations Bailey!!

FASHION VIDEO SHOOT AT MARKVILLE MALL!
KICKS Dancers were invited by Markville Mall to participate in a fashion Video shoot! The dancers that were chosen are: Brooke Brimmer, Angelina Leofanti, Christine Ramkeesoon, Paige Schuman and Alissa Kent! The girls modelled prom dresses and were interviewed on camera. The event will be shown on Daily Web TV!! Congratulations!!

PARIS AND ROME...BAILEY WOODMAN WINS TRIPS TO BOTH!!!
Miss Bailey Woodman was one of five dancers to win top honours which was a scholorship to the "Paris Summer Dance Tour" with a one week extension to Rome! Bailey recently attended the iDance Convention where she won this fabulous award! Bailey has also been invited to perform her solos at the "Dance World Cup" Competition in Niagara Falls June 29th-July 3rd! She was also selected by SYTYCD choreographers/winners, Ade (Hip Hop), Tara-Jean (Contemporary and Improv) and Evan (Musical Theatre) to demonstrate the dance combinations that were taught at the workshop! Congratulations Bailey!!

On December 25th, KICKS Dance Director, Courtney Niven-Drake gave birth to a beautiful baby girl, Taylor Rose Drake weighing 7 lbs 8 oz at 9:48am! The best Christmas present I've ever received, my second granddaughter!!

KICKS Student, Paige Schuman just returned from the World Showdance Championships with a Bronze Medal for Canada!! The competition was held in Reisa, Germany! The Canadian large group was choreographed by Blake McGrath, judge and choreographer from SYTYCDC! There were 22 teams from 11 countries entered in the World event, and Canada placed 3rd out of the 22 entries!! Congratulations Paige on your outstanding accomplishment!!

Bailey won the Top Achievement Award "The Ultimate Threat" Solo Challenge at the recent Triple Threat Dance Convention in Toronto! Some of the awards Bailey won are: $150 cash, $250 Scholorship towards "The Next Step" summer dance intensive workshop in L.A., Free Tuition Scholorship to one Triple Threat Dance Convention in 2011, Dance Power Gift Certificate, a one week Scholorship to "At Once Dance" in L.A. and a t-shirt printed "I am the Ultimate Threat"! Congratulations Bailey on being chosen the top dancer at the convention!!!!!

BAILEY WOODMAN WINS DANCE SCHOLORSHIP TO PARIS, FRANCE!!!
Congratulations to the "2010 Dancer of the Year" from IDance Convention...Miss Bailey Woodman! Bailey was selected from hundreds of dancers for her outstanding dance ability, technique and performance to be the winner of a trip to Paris, France! Bailey will be studying at the prestigious "Lagence Dancefloor" Studio. She will also have dinner and a dance photo shoot at the Eiffel Tower, attend the Moulin Rouge, visit the Louvre, Versaille, Arc de Triomphe, Sacre Coeur, River Boat Cruise along La Seine and Disneyland Paris! Along with this, Bailey was 1 of 3 dancers chosen as an IDance 2010 Protege entitling her to attend all their workshops across Canada free! The convention was taught by SYTYCD Season 1 and Season 2 Finalists, Tara-Jean, Vincent, Natalli, Miles, Amy and Melanie. The faculty performs at the end of the convention for the students to see the professionals dance. The biggest compliment...Natalli chose Bailey to dance her part in the showcase with the SYTYCD Finalists!!! Outstanding! Way to go Bailey!!! We're so proud of you!!!

Courtney was selected as the Creative Director for the Community Production of the Olympic Torch Relay in Markham celebrating the 2010 Olympics! The Town of Markham chose Courtney for this position due to her extensive professional dance background...her specialty being advanced tap choreography! Courtney choreographed a tap and percussive routine for dancers high school and university age. The Olympic Torch came to Markham on Thurs. Dec 17th where thousands of people took part in the celebration at the Markham Civic Centre. The 10 minute dance production which included tap dancers, jazz dancers, drums, hockey sticks was enjoyed by the crowd! Congratulations Courtney on your outstanding choreography for such a prestigious, memorable event in the Town of Markham!!

Heather auditioned and will be representing Canada at the World Championships in Germany this December on the Canadian National Tap team! Bailey auditioned for the TV Reality Show "DANCE THE DREAM" and after making it through 3 rounds with over 100 dancers, she is one of the top 25 dancers!! Congratulations Heather and Bailey!!
